Description:

Proposed construction of a 3,900 s.f. convenience store with auto fuel sales.  Site will include eight fuel dispensers capable of simultaneously serving 16 patrons.  The proposed project is located at the northeast quadrant of the intersection of Ridge Road and Brookpark Road. This project is a redevelopment of an existing Speedway service station, which will be demolished prior to construction.  Speedway is expanding the site footprint via the acquisition of the adjacent carwash property to the east.

Committee moved to approve the project's conceptual design, including building and pump island layout, design and materials with the understanding that the sponsors would further study: (1) landscape materials for the enlarged greenspace islands depicted in the plan; (2) business identity signage type, height and onsite placement; and, (3) the option of including a location for and design of a monument-style sign featuring the property's street address and possible "welcome to Cleveland" greeting.  Sponsors agreed to appear at the next Near West DRC meeting on May 14, 2014 to present revised plans.
